Worth writing about
- A size chart is out of date. This is the single most useful message you can send. Brands revise their charts and rarely announce it. Send the brand, the size, the figure you see on their site, and a link — I will check it against the source and update the same day where I can.
- A brand is missing. Tell me which one and where their published body-measurement chart lives. The list grows in the order people ask for it. Indie brands with a clearly published chart are the easiest to add.
- A calculation looks wrong. Include the measurements you entered, the brand you selected and what you expected — your figures stay in your browser, so I cannot see them unless you tell me.
- A label sent you to the wrong place on your body. If the description of where to put the tape was ambiguous, that is a defect in the tool, not in you, and it is the fault that produces the most wrong answers.
What I cannot help with
I cannot fit a garment remotely, diagnose why a specific muslin is pulling across the back, redraft a pattern for you, or tell you what a particular designer intended by "relaxed fit". For that, a local fitter, a good fitting book, or the pattern company's own support will serve you far better than I can. Most pattern companies answer sizing questions about their own patterns properly, and they know their blocks.
Pattern companies
If you publish patterns and your chart is represented incorrectly here, write and it will be corrected on sight — a wrong number helps nobody. If you would like your brand added, send the link to your published body-measurement chart and the height you draft for. I do not sell placements, sponsored positions or affiliate slots, so there is nothing to buy and nothing to pitch.
