The short version
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your measurements are never transmitted to us, because there is no server to transmit them to. This is a static site.
What is stored on your device
Your measurements are saved in your browser's local storage so you do not have to type them again on your next project — which is the entire point of a sizing tool you come back to. They stay on your device, we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data removes them.
Your figures may also appear in the page URL so you can bookmark a result or send it to someone helping you fit a garment. That URL is only shared if you choose to share it — bear in mind that it contains your measurements, so treat it the way you would treat any note of them.
If you would rather nothing were kept: use a private window, or clear site data for this domain, and the saved measurements are gone.
Advertising
This site carries third-party display advertising. Ad providers may set cookies or use similar technologies to measure and personalise the advertising you see, and they act as independent controllers of that data. Their practices are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
Where required, a consent notice will be shown before non-essential cookies are set, and declining is a genuine option that does not restrict your use of the calculator.
Analytics
Aggregate traffic measurement may be used to see which pages are read and which brands are selected most often, so the chart database gets maintained in the right order. It is not used to identify individuals and it is never combined with anything you type into the calculator.
What we never do
- Ask for your name, email address or any identifying detail. There is no account.
- Send your measurements anywhere, to anyone, for any reason.
- Sell, rent or pass your details to pattern companies, fabric retailers or advertisers.
- Email you. There is no mailing list, because there is no sign-up.
Children
This site is a general-audience sewing reference and is not directed at children.
Your rights and contact
